I have noticed the following strange behavior of the system when i run MD04 for some materials. In the first screen, you see that MRP suggests i reschedule in my proposal at 21/06/2016, whereas in the second screen it suggests 1/6/2016. I assume this happens because it takes as rescheduling date the first date inventory becomes negative. In the first case, this happens when safety stock is subtracted at 21/06/2016 (although there is a VSF requirement at 1/06/2016), whereas in the second case this happens at 1/6/2016 (if you also calculate the PO from the 5th month).
From what i understand, the problem is caused because the second line in MD04 is Safety Stock. Safety stock is always displayed in today's date (no matter if i have a requirement with earlier date), therefore, if this happens to be the first date inventory becomes negative, then the system suggests this date as rescheduling date. Any Idea of how to overcome this?
